Visiting a club for the first time?

  • Contact the club in advance via their website or social media to confirm ride times and routes.
  • Check whether you need third-party liability insurance or British Cycling membership.
  • Pick a slower group than you think you need — it's better to move up next week than struggle to hang on.
  • Bring a spare tube, pump, water and a snack, plus lights and a waterproof layer in winter.
